THESIS PROJECT

Women of The Ramayana

The thesis project was undertaken during the senior year at ISDI Parsons, in order to understand the reason behind the patriarchal structure of the Indian society and the characterisation of women. Mythology makes for a big part of the society and it was realised that the stories had a great influence on the mind set of people.

Hence, a book of short stories was written, targeting children, in order for them to grow up with tales that glorified women.
